Dear Friend,

Holy Spirit Catholic Parishes (HSCP) is a family of seven Catholic parishes located across seventy miles and three rural counties (Dixon, Cedar, and Pierce) in northeast Nebraska. HSCP was formed in 2023 as a result of the Journey of Faith pastoral planning here in the Archdiocese of Omaha. Our seven parish family has taken the patronage of the Holy Spirit who bestows upon us his sevenfold gifts - wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord - so that every Christian may grow in personal holiness. In choosing this name we consciously ask the Holy Spirit to guide us on our journey. 

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16).  God created each of us in his image, made for relationship with him and each other. Unfortunately, by the envy of the devil, sin, suffering and death entered our world, distorting who we are and disordering many of our thoughts, desires and actions. But – wonder of wonders – God has come to wage war upon the enemy, to right the wrong, to heal the wound, to rescue us and restore us to the freedom of new life, through the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each of us are invited to respond to his invitation, to be joined to Christ's body, the Church - to receive back our identity as his beloved children. Not only to be healed ourselves, but help others come to know him as well.  It is the Holy Spirit's work reproducing Jesus within us and empowering us to share the good news of his life with others.

This website is a sign of the unity the Holy Spirit wants to give us as we strive to live out this gospel message. There are events, programs, people and personnel that make up the unique identities of each individual parish, but we also have events, programs, people and personnel that are shared as a family of parishes.  Here you will find expressed how we participate in Christ's call to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:16-20), as a missional community. 

We strive to use every means to communicate with you. This website is only one. We also have a printed bulletin each week. Flocknote is the next most used method to get messages out to you via email and text message, as you choose to receive them. We encourage you to participate in things that will help you and your family reach heaven.  We promote a culture of generosity, after the model of Jesus Christ.  Giving up something for the sake of something greater is what Jesus did, and, if we do the same, the blessings far outweigh the sacrifices. Holy Spirit Catholic Parishes exists to make disciples. The Lord has a next step for every person. We want to help you discover what the Lord's next step is for you.
